DARLINGTON — Perry E. Paxton, 76, Darlington, died at 11:15 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, 2007 in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born Aug. 21, 1931 in Crawfordsville, the son of Anson and Mary (Hill) Paxton. He married Mary Josephine Crabb Feb. 19, 1956 in Brazil. She survives. He retired from Mid States Wire after 27 years. He was a member of National Field Trial Association and loved to hunt. Survivors, besides the wife, include: four sons, Ashley (Donna) Paxton, Crawfordsville, Charles Allan (Sherri) Paxton, Rockville, Kevin L. (Kylie) Paxton, Waynetown, and Perry Jason (Alisha) Paxton, Waynetown; four daughters, Cindy (Pud) Patton, Tangier, Becky (Howard) Ambrose, Ladoga, Georgia (John) Birchfield, Crawfordsville, and Sue Anna (Wade) Frazee, Hillsboro; 21 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, George Paxton. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) in Hunt & Son Funeral Home, Crawfordsville, with the Rev. Vernon Dowell officiating.
